Why should you buy a custom built computer?
Value
The benefits of purchasing a custom PC are quite straight forward. First of all, you are getting much more for your money with a custom built computer. All of the components I use in my PCs are designed off of computer industry standards. What this means to you as the PC owner is that if you happen to move to another city, state, even if you move to another country, your computer will be serviceable and upgradeable by any PC repair technician.
Industry standard components also have the extra bonus of working with just about any other industry standard component. If you purchase a computer, and later on down the road you would like to upgrade something, you won't have to buy an entire PC system just to get what you want!
Longevity
Computers bought "off the shelf" from retail outlets have a pretty short life span. Usually you can upgrade the memory a bit, and add a few extra things, but when it comes down to you needing a faster computer, you're out of luck. Once you outgrow that PC's limited upgrade options, you have to buy another PC.
This is not so with the computers I build! Modular components, such as the ones I use in my PCs, will give your custom computer a life span of many, many years. If you reach the point of needing an upgrade that surpasses the hardware limitations of the PC I build for you, all you need to do is have the core components replaced. Peripheral components like hard drives, DVD drives, video, sound, or network hardware can all be kept. This minimizes your upgrade cost and will make your PC last for a very long time!
Stability
We all know how frustrating it is to be in the middle of doing something on a computer and it locks up, reboots, or just doesn't act right. One of the great things about having a custom PC built with industry standard, modular components is that everything just WORKS!
All of the hardware I choose for my computers is made to work well and "play nice" with every other piece of hardware in the PC. When computers are built this way, everything is compatible and things just work. Another benefit to having this type of hardware selection in a custom built PC is that you don't have to worry about using special programs that have been modified to work with your specific model of computer, which can be the case with some more popular "off the shelf" computer brands.
